Psychological & Behavioral Services for Children, Adults & Families

Toilet Training

Toilet Training services are generally provided in a parent consultation manner and are a short-term intervention. Assessment, Consultation & Treatment works with families to identify what model of toilet training intervention best suits the client and their family and provides instruction and modeling for the family to successfully toilet train their child. Services may vary in intensity depending on the stage of toileting training and needs of the family.

Toilet Training services:

  • Aim to identify any pre-requisite skills that first need to be addressed before actual elimination training is targeted
  • Are provided in a consultative manner in which parents and caregiver learn strategies to use to increase toileting skills
  • Utilize principles of Applied Behavior Analysis including breaking down skills into more manageable tasks or steps, and reinforcement or reward systems

Assessment, Consultation & Treatment is vendored with the regional center to provide Toilet Training services.
